- 2014.02.13Violin Concert of Kenji Miyazawa
We are happy to invite you to our special concert in the museum. As you may know, currently we are organizing an exhibition concerning Kenji Miyazawa who was one of very famous Japanese poet and authors of children literature in the early Showa period of Japan.
Interestingly it can be said that he loved classical music and there is a violin which is inherited from him to his progenies. As the story goes, he listened to his sister “Toshi” play the violin.
In this time, with the cooperation of his grandnephew, Mr. Kazuki Miyazawa, we would like to have a violin concert. Of course, the violin will be come on the stage at this concert from his home town, Hanamaki, Iwate. Surprisingly, the music instrumental will be played by Miss Kaho Miyazawa who is the grandnephew’s daughter.Along with her musical performance, her mother, Mrs. Yayoi Miyazawa will recite some of his works.
It means that this concert will be almost covered Kenji’s descendants. We are sure that it will be a precious concert and great experience for all visitors to share the atmosphere he felt. Please don’t worry if you can’t speak Japanese very well. There will be staffs who can speak English at the concert. We are looking forward to seeing you in our museum.
